Yoga and Naturopathy for Hair Falling

Hair falling is common problem now days. In most instances hair grows back normally if the source of the problem is removed. Still, severe damage to the hair or scalp sometimes causes permanent bald patches. Deficiency of vitamin B & natural salts, constipation, worries, tension, excessive mental work, stress, mental shock, prolonged illness, scalp not being cleaned properly, deficient blood supply to head, hormonal imbalance, use of soap/shampoo with chemical in it, excessive use of hair dryer, side effects of medicine, insufficient sleep, thyroid disease, anemia, diabetes, eating disorders, iron deficiency,  protein deficiency, chemotherapy and low vitamin levels may cause hair loss etc are the major causes of hair loss.

Treatments: Wash hair with mild shampoo. Look at the ingredients to find a mild shampoo. Do not use shampoo daily to wash your head. While using shampoo, put some drops of shampoo on palm, rub it and then only use it on head. Use a good hairbrush. Try a scalp massage.

Yogic Kriya: Practice Ardha Shankha Prakshalana and Kunjal Kriya once in week.

Asana: Viparitkarani, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Sirshasana, Matsyasana, Parvatasana, Savasana etc.

Pranayama: Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom & Bhramari etc.

Naturopathy:

Do not let sweat dry in scalp. Wash the head with curd. Massage the head with coconut milk and wash hair. Massage the head with finger tips before going to bed daily. Apply fresh coriander juice and carrot juice into the root of the hair to stop hair falling. Apply onion juice or garlic or gingers in bald patches to support hair grow. Grind carrot and apply the paste on head and wash after 2 hours. Massage the head with coconut oil and lemon juice. Washing hair with Reetha and Sheekakai is good for hair health. After meals comb the hair and scratch the scalp with comb. Take mud pack on abdomen and enema followed by hip bath and steam bath. It will help digestive system and circulation system better which will help in hair health in long term.  

Scalp Massage: Take any natural oil– olive, coconut, almond– add a few drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil to it; and massage gently into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, and then shampoo your hair. Follow this remedy once a week. It smells great and is very relaxing!

Diet Therapy:

Take raw food and fruit viz. cabbage, pineapple, amla, raw green vegetable, salad, sprouted cereals fruits etc. Drink spinach and carrot juice. Take unpolished rice, chappati made of flour with chaff.
