Yoga and Naturopathy for Meningitis (Brain Fever)

Meningitis is inflammation of the membranes (meninges) that surround the brain and spinal cord. Both encephalitis and meningitis can be caused by bacteria or viruses, and rarely a fungus, or be noninfectious. These infections generally start in other parts of the body such as ears, sinuses or the upper respiratory tract. Thereafter, they travel to the brain through the bloodstream. Headache and fever are the most common symptoms of encephalitis and meningitis.


Have complete rest. Drink orange juice, sweet lime juice, pineapple juice, lemon water etc. to increase resistance power (vital force) and to detoxify the body.

Take garlic, lemon water with honey; margosa leaves juice etc.

Take mud back on abdomen followed by warm water enema. If the fever is above 102, then keep wet sheet pack on forehead and on abdomen.

Asana & Pranayama: Savasana and Yoga Nidra, Deep Breathing, Nadi Sodhan, Anulom Vilom, Om Chanting, Bhramari etc.
