Yoga and Naturopathy for Muscular Dystrophy

The muscular dystrophies (MD) are a group of more than 30 genetic diseases characterized by progressive weakness and degeneration of the skeletal muscles that control movement. Some forms of MD are seen in infancy or childhood, while others may not appear until middle age or later. Some types of muscular dystrophy affect only males. Some people with MD enjoy a normal life span with mild symptoms that progress very slowly; others experience swift and severe muscle weakness, dying in their late teens to early 20s. This problem happens because of damage of the nerves viz. myelin (cover of the nerves).
