Yoga and Naturopathy for Jaundice

Jaundice is a term used to describe a yellowish tinge
to the skin and sclerae (the white part of the eye)
that is caused by an excess of bilirubin in the blood
(hyperbilirubinemia). Body fluids may also be yellow.
Stools (faeces or poo) can be pale in colour and urine
dark in colour. Bilirubin is the yellow pigment formed
by the breakdown of these old cells. Jaundice occurs
when your liver doesn’t metabolize bilirubin the way
it’s supposed to. Jaundice becomes visible when the
bilirubin level is about 2 to 3 mg/dl (34 to 51 μmol/l).
In this sense it is liver diseases.
