Yoga and Naturopathy for Prostate Disorder

The prostate is a gland that is a part of the male
reproductive system. It helps make semen, the fluid
that contains sperm. It surrounds the tube that carries
urine away from the bladder and out of the body. A
young man’s prostate is about the size of a walnut.
The older men more likely get to have prostate trouble
because of enlargement of the prostate, also experience
erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory problems. Some of
the most common problems are prostatic enlargement
that causes blockage urethra and bacterial and nonbacterial
infection (acute or chronic). Other causes
of prostate enlargement include prostate cancer and
prostate infection (prostatitis).
Some signs of prostate problem includes burning
pain during urination, difficulty urinating or trouble
in starting or stopping urination, more frequent urges
to urinate at night, loss of bladder control, decreased
flow or velocity of urine stream, blood in urine
(hematuria) etc. Prostatic infection symptoms include
groin pain, painful or difficult urination, pain with
ejaculation, reduced urine output and may include
fever, malaise, and periodic recurrence of symptoms
even after treatment.
In Allopathy medicine, Alpha-blockers drugs such as
Terazosin (Hytrin) are usually the first type of medicine
you will be offered, unless your prostate is very large.
They relax the muscles in the prostate and around the
opening of the bladder, making it easier to urinate.
They don’t cure an enlarged prostate but they can help
only to relieve symptoms.
Asana: Siddhasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana,
Chakrasana, Mandukasana, Dhanurasana,
Bhujangasana, Salavasana
Pranayama: Kapalbhati, Agnisar, Bahiya etc.
Bandha & Mudra: Varun Mudra, Uddiyan Bandh,
Mool bandh, Viparit Karani, Ashwini
Diet Therapy:
Unhealthy diet may negatively contribute in this
problem. So improving diet is essential. Eat Balanced
Diet. One day juice/liquid fasting (water, lemon water,
coriander water, raw coconut water, cucumber juice,
water melon juice, pineapple juice, white pumpkin
juice, carrot juice etc.) should followed by raw diet
(fruits, salad, raw vegetables, sprouted cereals etc)
for few days. Berries (Berries like strawberries,
blackberries, and raspberries are high in vitamin C and
antioxidants) Fatty Fish, Flaxseed, (There are plenty of
reasons to include omega-3 fatty acids in your diet),
Nuts, Beans, Green Tea, Watermelon. Pumpkin seeds
and Oatmeal are best food supplements for prevention
and cure of protest enlargement; take it daily.
Foods to Avoid: heavy food viz. ghee, sweets, fried
food, fast food, Eggs & Poultry, Processed foods &
sugar, Caffeine, Spicy foods, Dairy and Alcohol
Apply mud pack and take enema followed by hip bath
daily. Take hot and cold fomentation on abdomen and
area between anus and scrotum. Make sure to urinate
after having food and after taking bath. Take hot
foot bath before sleeping at night. Drink blue bottle
processed water with sun rays.
