Yoga and Naturopathy for Sciatica Pain

Sciatica is defined as a severe pain in a leg along the
course of the sciatic nerve. Sciatic pain is felt in the
back of the leg running from the buttock down the back
of the thigh into the calf and foot. Symptoms includes
tingling, numbness, or weakness that originate in the
lower back and travel through the buttock and down
the large sciatic nerve in the back of each leg up to the
calf or even into the toes . The vast majority of sciatica
symptoms result from lower back disorders between
the L4 and S1 levels.
TREATMENT
Asana: Masrkatasana, Kandharasana,Setubandhasana,
Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, One leg uttanapadasana,
Gomukhasan, Ardhmatsyendrasana, Matsyasana,
Vajrasana and Trikohasana Suptavajrasana etc.

Pranayama: Anulom Vilome, Nadisodhan, Bhramari
etc.
Mudra: Vayu Mudra
Meditation: Meditation is helpful as it helps to control
stress and improve healing efficiency.
Diet Therapy:
Take sufficient Vitamin D (with sun exposure or with
food rich in vitamin D like food ripped in sun rays)
and Calcium rich food viz. milk and milk products,
white sesame, seeds Simhara etc. Regulate protein
intake. Take turmeric boiled milk before going to bed
for five days.
Naturopathy:
Take mud pack, spinal bath and hot and cold
fomentation on lower part of spine followed by gentle
spinal massage. Red oil or oil processed in red bottle
with sun rays is useful for massage. Hot foot bath and
sun bath are suggested. Take complete rest for few
days. Sleep on wooden slab or the floor.
