Yoga and Naturopathy for Stammering-Lisping

Stammering is not simply a speech difficulty but is a
serious communication problem. Stammering while
talking is basically a speech disorder quite common in
kids between 2-5 years but usually gets less common as
the child gets older. It can undermine the confidence and
self-esteem of the person and affect their interactions
with others as well as their education and employment
prospects. The common cause of stammering starting

in adult life is neurological trauma like stroke, clot or
bleeding in brain resulting in damage to a specific part
of the brain. The patient of this disease should do light
exercise everyday in the morning to provide strength
to the nerves.
TREATMENT
Yogic Kriya: Practice jal neti, sutra neti, enema and
kunjal daily.
Asana: Simhasana, Janusirsasana, suptavajrasan,
sarvangasana, halasana, matsyasan, sirsasana etc.
Pranayama: Om Chanting, Deep breathing, Kapalbhati,
Bahiya, Anulom Vilome, Nadisodhan, Bhramari etc.
Mudra: Khechari mudra, Tribandh, Gyan mudra etc.
Meditation: Meditate daily to remove the element of
fear from the mind.
Diet Therapy & Ayurveda solutions:
Eat seasonal fruits as much as possible.
Chewing amla helps to cure stammering and lisping
among children as it helps to reduce the thickness of
tongue that leads to clear speech.
Take 10 soaked and peel-less almond with misri and
butter.

Mix 10 almonds and 10 black peppers, grind them to
make paste and lick daily.
Make paste of Amla powder with ghee (made of cow
milk) and lick daily.
Boil a dry date in milk and drink the milk along with
date. Do not take anything for 2 hrs thereafter. This
will clear the sound.
Mix honey and pepper to lick daily.
Keep a small piece of roasted alum in mouth before
going to bed for a month. Lisping and stammering will
be cured.
Take a clove and a cardamom every day after food.
Clean the tongue daily.
