Yoga and Naturopathy for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)


A urinary tract infection (uti) is an infection that affects
part of the urinary tract. When it affects the lower
urinary tract it is known as a bladder infection (cystitis)
and when it affects the upper urinary tract it is known
as kidney infection (pyelonephritis). Urinary tract
infections are more common in women. They usually
occur in the bladder or urethra, but more serious
infections involve the kidney. A bladder infection may
cause pelvic pain, increased urge to urinate, pain with
urination and blood in the urine. A kidney infection
may cause back pain, nausea, vomiting and fever.
TREATMENT
Yogic Kriya: Take Enema daily and Kunjal once in
week.
Asana: Viparitkarani, Sarvangasana, Halasana,
Matsyasana, Paschimitanasan, Chakrasana etc.
Pranayama: Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhait, Nadi sodhan,
Bhramari, Ujjai, Udgit.

Meditation: Yog Nidra and Meditation is the best thing
to practice for the UTI patient. It will reduce stress and
improve the efficiency of immune mechanism.
Diet Therapy:
Take 3ltr + Water till the time there is infections. Take
2-3ltr once it is under control. Take 2-5 pcs garlic with
water every morning. Replace tea with hot lemon/
Sikanji/ green tea with lemon etc. Take cranberry &
blueberry as medicine. Take lots of liquid viz. coconut
water, cucumber juice, sour milk water and green
coriander water etc. Do fasting on fruit with focus
on Vitamin C Viz. orange, sweet lemon, pineapples,
raspberries, guavas, kiwifruits, bananas, melons,
tomatoes, papaya, watermelons etc.
Avoid: Alcohol, pain killer, sugar, spicy food, alcohol,
caffeine and cigarette, carbonated fizzy drinks like
beer, soda etc. Refined flour products like bakery,
ready made foods together with processed fat and
sugar are very harmful it should be abstained by
patient suffering from UTI.
Naturopathy:
Take sitz baths, spinal bath, douche, hot compresses
and hip bath. Make a habit to Pee after bath, after
taking food and before going o bed.
